Day 1: Leh to Spituk to Zingchen This trek starts after crossing the bridge over the Indus River at Spituk. It trails westward over a vast stretch of land along the Indus before turning left into the valley of Markha. The first village that you can come across is Zingchen, dotted with a number of poplar trees. |

Day 2: Zingchen to Yurutse {3900} (Duration 5-6 hrs.) An early start is recommended to avoid the strong sun at mid –day .You will walk through the gorge till rumbakSumdo , from where the gorge widens .You can expect trails and signs of snow leopards and golden eagles flying overhead. As soonas you come out of the gorge, you will find Stupas and agricultural fields. |

Day 3: Yurutse to Sku {3400m} (Duration 6-7 hrs.) An early start is recommended as it tends to get very warm while walking through Shingo to Sku gorge .After a short ascend from Yururtse to Gandala (4900m) where its takes almost two hours to reach at the top . A wonderful view of Stok Peak and mountain ranges .Furthers the trail leads you to sku passing through the village ofShingo. |

Day 4: Sku to Markha (3600m) (Duration 6-7 hrs.) Today you have easy long trek, crossing of river but with enjoyable spectacular landscape across the trek. Pass through Chalak and cross the river again before Tunespacomes. Markha village comes after walking for another two hours. |

Day 5: Markha to Thachungtse (4000m) (Duration 5-6 hrs.) Today you cross the river several times and you pass across beautiful landscape of Markhavalley.The towering KangYatse peaks make this valley beautiful with small villages and monsatries located on top of the hill .The Thachungtse comes after walking for around one hour across the river,its an excellent spot for Camping . |

Day 6: Thachungtse to Nimaling (4900m) (Duration 4-5 hrs.) From Thachungtseleads you to Nimaling passing through several Maney walls and Shepherd camp. This is a beautiful place where people prefer spending one extra day,resting and exploring the valley .you spot Blue sheep and other wild life in this area. |

Day 7: Nimaling to Shang Sumdo (3760m) via kongmaru la (5100m)(Duration 6-7hrs.) Morning after breakfast, continue trek with crossing of stream over wooden bridge .You enjoy wonderful landscape of valley with some zigzag trail up to the kongmaru la and keeping walking to Chuskurmo and Chokdo with a couple of houses and Maney walls and continue easy descent down in the valley Shang –Sumdo. |

Day 8: Shang Sumdo to Martselang (Duration 4hrs.) The walk from Shang Sumdo to Hemis is easy as you havew to walk along the river through rough road. You reach Martselang village as you come out from the Shang gorge. Vehicle will pick you up and after visiting Hemis monastery you can drive to Leh . |
