Rafting in Indus River |
The Indus River ,locally known as the SingheyKhababs { out of Lions mouth }, flows across the north west to south east, passing through Ladakh and flows into Pakistan where it is joined by shayok and suru to became the historical Indus River.
Rafting on Indus provides spectaculars view of landscape Ladakh and Zanskar ranges which house Buddhist monasteries on a high cliff. The white water Indus has rapids generally grades I &II and at some places, has grade III to even V rapids.
The popular rafting points are from phey to nimoo and also from upshi to kharu or from upshi to nimoo. Others points are from phey to saspol or phey to confluence {Indus and zanskar river meet} at nimoo.

Phey to Nimoo Route |
This route consists mostly of grade II and III easy rapids .m it passes through astoundingly beautiful mountains, many of them with hamlets and imposing old monasteries nesting among the valleys. It starts from phey village, about 12km from Leh and ends at indus Zanskar confluence at Nimoo about 36km from Leh .

Phey to Saspol |
This rafting trip starts from phey, about 8km of Leh and its end at Saspol, on Leh Srinagar Highway. This route is short and relaxed enough to enjoy the breathtaking view of landscapes and beauty of tiny hamlets on both sides of Indus.

Saspol to Khalsey |
Is the more challenging route between saspol to Khalsy which has km long series of rapids at Nurla . The rafting will finish at Khalsey 90 kms from Leh.

Kharu to Spituk |
It starts from Kharu , about 45km south east of Leh and its end at Spituk , just short of Leh. This route is specially recommended for the beginners and amateurs.

Day 1 : Remla to Karsha |
Rafting expeditions begins at Remala. Raft till You Lang. We raft 30 km in 5hrs which includes a break for lunch and hot beverages. We are surrounded by 6000 meters high peaks. River section includes a grade II section, a good
introduction for first timers as well as to the river in general. After settling into camp by mid afternoon. We take a hike to Karsha Monastery for the evening incantation. |
Day 2 : Karsha to Pidmu |
After a late morning start, we raft from Karsha to Pidmu. This stretch is approximately30km with class II and III rapids. After settlings into the camp by afternoon, we visit the near by village Pidmu.

Day 3 : Pidmu to Neyraks |
After packing camp in the morning, We start raft 20km to Neyraks , a class II section . The gorge narrows in on the river this indeed is a Grand Canyon in its own right. We stop for the day to pitch camp in a gorge below Neyraks village.

Day 4 : Neyraks to Lamayuru |
After 30km rafting takes us to Neyrakas to Lamayuru, through the core of the zanskar classic white water day with continuous class III rapids, and a class IV rapids where the river squeezes between a gap of 18ft.
We stop for lunch near huge waterfall at the confluence Markha river.with zanskar camp at Lamayuru.

Day 5 : Lamayuru to Nimoo |
We raft 40km of class III/IV white water from lamayuru to NImoo .Finish the trip at Nimoo and after lunch drive to leh and Dinner overnight at hotel.
