Rock Carving and Inscriptions |
Buddhist Rock carvings are other significant and unique cultural resources to be found in this region. These include depictions of deities from the Buddhist pantheon and are often earlier to the mural art of the monasteries, showing a strong influence of Indian art form as different to the Tibetan style. Historic inscriptions on stone are also significant as records of royal land decrees, etc. |

Chortens and Maney walls |
The landscape of Ladakh is dotted with symbols of their Buddhist heritage and the Chortens (Stupas) and Maney Walls are characteristic to the region. Some of the more elaborate Chortens are painted within while the maney walls can run several km in length. |

Lhato |
Lhato is a very important heritage of ladakh ; especially it links man and gods . These structures are dedicated to the village and family protectors. Some persons possess the protectors and they do curing for both man and animals. These are mostly white and red structures with juniper on top and can be seen on the hills and passes. |
